SNELLVILLE — Buford traveled to Snellville to take on fellow Region 8-AAAAAA opponent Shiloh.  The Wolves bats were white-hot right from the start while freshman pitcher Emma Grace Williams had a solid performance on the mound for Buford.  It would take just three innings for the mercy rule to be brought into play and the game called as the Wolves beat Shiloh 17-1.

Williams (5-0) pitched the full game (three innings) giving up only two hits and a run for Buford.

Senior Abbi Perkins led the offense for Buford against Shiloh.  She was 2-for-2 hitting a two-run home run and a double earning four RBIs.  Perkins also scored a run.  Junior Taylor Malvin also had a strong performance going 2-for-2.  Both appearances at the plate turned into triples for Malvin earning her an RBI and she also added three runs to Buford’s score.  Sophomore Emma Castorri was 2-for-3 earning two RBIs and scoring a run while freshman Mackenzie Pickens was 2-for-2 earning two RBIs and scoring three runs.

Buford’s overall record improves to 9-2 and 5-0 in Region 8-AAAAAA.

Up next for Buford is a region game at Dacula High School on Friday, September 4 at 6 p.m.

MOUNTAIN VIEW  3     NORTH GWINNETT  1

SUWANEE — It was a battle for Region 8-AAAAAAA when Mountain View traveled to take on North Gwinnett in Suwanee on Tuesday evening.  Mountain View would come from behind and beat North Gwinnett 3-1.

Offensive contributions by the Bulldogs came from Marisa Miller’s three singles and singles from Jaylyn Benson, Amber Reed, and Ella Janish.

North Gwinnett will play Mill Creek on Thursday, September 3 at 6 p.m. at Mill Creek High School.
