BUFORD — On Monday afternoon, an incident of road rage turned into a shooting in a Buford shopping center parking lot.

Police received a call just after 1:30 p.m. on Monday from a man who stated that he had just shot someone in a parking lot located near 3730 Buford Drive in Buford.  This is the same shopping center that Texas Roadhouse and Academy Sports are located.

Upon arrival, officers found a male that had been shot at least once by the man who called 9-1-1.  The wounded male was transported to a local hospital with what Gwinnett County Police are calling non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooter remained at the scene and was present when officers arrived.

Detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene to begin their investigation of the incident which includes processing evidence and speaking with witnesses.

No charges have been filed at this time.
