(Hall County, Ga) — Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office have recently received several telephone calls from residents regarding a new telephone scam.
The scammers claim to be from the Hall County Sheriff Office and are asking citizens to donate/send money over the telephone to raise money for “food baskets”.
This is not legitimate and is a scam.
If you receive a call such as this, do not give out any sensitive information such as a credit card number or personal identifiers such as a social security number.
Anyone who has received calls such as this is encouraged to report the information to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division @ 770-531-6879.
