Buford linebacker Mantrez Walker announced his decision to further his academic and athletic career at the University of Michigan after he graduates from BHS in 2025. Walker’s decision was broadcast live on rivals.com and later posted to Twitter on Saturday, Feb. 11.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound sophomore is one of the top linebacker recruits in his class. He has been offered by Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, LSU, Missouri, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee and more. Earlier this month, Walker narrowed down his list of schools to four. Those four colleges were Michigan, LSU, Florida and Penn State. Michigan would beat out the others in the end.

Walker still has two more years remaining at Buford. He chose to commit early to the college of his choice.
