Ryan Kim

Having read more than 75 books this school year and possessing a tremendous love for reading, Ryan Kim is an outstanding choice for Reader of the Week, as selected by Buford Senior Academy’s media specialist, Ms. Emily Stewart.

The BSA fourth grader’s favorite book series is “Wings of Fire,” a collection of fantasy novels written by author Tui T. Sutherland.

“I like dragons, and (Wings of Fire) is fictional stories about adventures they go on,” Ryan said.

“Ryan is always eager to read,” said Mrs. Stephanie Perry, Ryan’s English/language arts teacher. “He truly fulfills the quote ‘the more that you read, the more you will know’! He often shares so much knowledge that he gains as he reads!

“Our class believes Ryan will be a scientist when he grows up,” Mrs. Perry continued. “He loves to read about space, the world, and how our world works.”

A scientist is exactly what Ryan wants to become!

“”I want to be a scientist and an animal collector,” he said. “First, I love animals and I’m addicted to insects! My favorite subject is science.”

Outside of school, Ryan’s hobbies include watching YouTube, playing video games and practicing soccer and basketball.

Congratulations, Ryan, and keep reading!
