During Thanksgiving break Dacula High School hosted the first Craig Sager Memorial Basketball Tournament. The host school invited 16 women’s teams and 16 men’s teams and divide them into four brackets. Buford girls were in the Chevron Bracket along with Grayson, Douglass, Archer, Holy Innocent’s Duluth, Dacula and Valdosta. 

Going into the tournament Coach Durden knew he had his hands full with the teams. But his girls were put to the test and at the end did what they had to do to defeat last year’s State runner up in Class A Holy Innocent’s for the championship by the score of 57-45.

The brackets’ MVP Tory Ozment scored ten of her game high 19 points in the second half to give Buford the win in the last 16 minutes of the game. With two players missing due to injury and down at the half 29-22 the Wolves stepped up their game made the adjustments they needed to come back and win the Tournament. Currently the Buford women’s basketball team is 3-0.
