Coming off a 14-0 shutout against South Forsyth on Thursday, the Buford High School softball team continued its winning streak in the Rumble at the Ridge tournament, sponsored by Peachtree Ridge High School, on Saturday.

The Wolves secured a 4-0 win against Cherokee Bluff on Saturday morning and a commanding 13-0 shutout in just four innings against Campbell, a Class AAAAAAA opponent, that afternoon.

Standout playmakers 

  • Senior Emma Grace Watson earned her first win of the 2023 season for the Wolves pitching four innings while allowing one hit and striking out four batters
  • Junior Kylie Gower went 2-for-2 with two doubles, an RBI, one run scored and a stolen base
  • Sophomore Addie Rackley went 2-for-3 with a double and one run scored
  • Senior Madison Pickens went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI
  • Sophomore Caroline Stanton had a triple and an RBI

  • Sophomore Addison Rackley secured her first career victory on the mound for the Wolves, pitching four innings, allowing only two hits and striking out five batters
  • Senior Makenzie Pickens went 2-for-2 with two home runs, three RBIs and two runs scored
  • Senior Madison Pickens went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored
  • Sophomore Kadyn Gabrels went 1-for-1 with a sac fly, two RBIs and one run scored
  • Junior Izzy Rettiger went 1-for-1 with an RBI and two runs scored

Up next for the Wolves is a home game against Walnut Grove at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14.
