Gwinnett County Public Schools has announced the recipients of the 2022 Outstanding Senior Athlete Awards.

The honors are presented to both a male and a female student who have shown excellence in athletics and academics and who exhibit leadership in their school and through community service.

“These students are not necessarily the best athletes in their senior class but have proven themselves to be outstanding in a variety of areas,” an announcement on the GCPS website states.

Lanier High School’s outstanding athletes are Noah Richardson in swimming and Alexis “Lexi” Richards in competition cheer/spirit cheer/game day cheer.

At North Gwinnett High School, basketball player RJ Godfrey was recognized alongside softball and basketball player Marisa Miller.

Selections were made by the athletics directors at the respective schools working with their coaching staffs.

“Congratulations to these young people for their hard work in the classroom, in the pool, the gym, and on the track and field,” the announcement states. “In addition to acknowledging their high school accomplishments, GCPS wishes the best to those who plan to compete at the college level.”
