LAWRENCEVILLE — A motorcycle accident in Lawrenceville which occurred on Friday afternoon claimed the life of a Suwanee man.

Officers from the East Precinct were dispatched shortly before 6 p.m. to a crash at the intersection of Collins Hill Road and Russell Road in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

The person who called 9-1-1 stated that a motorcycle was involved and that the driver of the motorcycle was injured.

The motorcycle driver has been identified as Robert Boren, age 49 of Suwanee. He was transported to the hospital with severe injuries, injuries that would claim his life.

According to the preliminary investigation, the driver of a Honda Accord went to turn left in front of the motorcycle causing the two to collide. The force of the crash ejected the motorcycle driver. The driver of the Honda Accord and it’s passenger were not injured during the incident.

The Gwinnett County Police Department says that the investigation is still active and that no charges have been filed as of yet.

As temperatures get warmer, more and more motorcycles will be out on the roads. Be careful, look twice before making a turn. You could save the life of a motorcycle driver.
