As of today, Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, Gary Pirkle Park in Sugar Hill is closed temporarily.
The city is taking advantage of the winter season to complete a turf field renovation project and restore and repair items damaged due to Tropical Storm Delta in October.
The city asks residents and guests who use Gary Pirkle Park for walking and fitness to consider moving to the E Center gym while the park is closed.
The city reminds residents that Sugar Hill Natural Gas customers receive a complimentary gym membership at the E Center, and memberships for non-gas customers and non-residents are available for a fee.
No tentative date for the park’s reopening has been provided by the city.
