The city of Sugar Hill is accepting orders for engraved bricks in memory of military service members to be set into the city’s Veterans Memorial Plaza prior to Veterans Day 2023 in November.

Sugar Hill residents and those with connections to the city can personalize a brick with a service member’s information — the veteran’s name, branch of service and years of service or tour of duty.

Online orders will be accepted through Thursday, Aug. 31, and spaces are limited. Orders for engraved bricks are only accepted twice a year for Memorial Day and Veterans Day, and each brick is $75.

About the Sugar Hill Veterans Memorial Plaza

Located across from City Hall at the intersection of West Broad Street and Church Street, the plaza includes granite panels for five service branches of the military connected by metal artwork of stars and stripes inspired by the American flag, a water feature, an obelisk, an eagle statue and an eternal flame to honor the lives of those lost in military service. A dedication ceremony was held Nov. 11, 2019, the 101st anniversary of the 1918 armistice, ending World War I.
