HALL COUNTY — A Sugar Hill man was held at the Hall County Jail without bond the afternoon of Monday, July 20 under suspicion of a sexual battery incident that has been under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office since April 2020.

Mark Eric Fowler, 32, of Sugar Hill was arrested by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Unit at his residence the afternoon of Friday, July 17 on charges of aggravated sexual battery and sexual battery.  The warrants were obtained on July 16.

According to initial reports, Fowler, intentionally and without consent, forced his hand into the adult female victim’s pants and underwear before committing the offense of aggravated sexual battery. The crime occurred Saturday, April 4 in the 3900 block of P. Davidson Road in Gainesville, as Fowler had arranged to meet the woman to discuss legitimate business arrangements.

During the incident, the victim told Fowler that she needed to use the restroom and was able to escape and call a friend. When the friend arrived, the victim was able to leave and contact the Sheriff’s Office.

As of the time this article was posted, Fowler was being held in the Hall County Jail without bond.

This case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
