“Davis Peek has added to the legacy of great defenders to come out of the Buford program,” Buford head lacrosse coach and the father of Davis Peek, Kevin Peek, said. “While he does not have a lot of stats to show for his 4 years of varsity lacrosse, he does have a long line of top ranked opposing offensive players who were denied their stats when he was on them. No less than 7 All-Americans and many All-State selections were limited on their production this year and opposing coaches admitted to me that they game planned around him as a defender the last couple of years, which is rare.”

According to USA Lacrosse’s website, “A USA Lacrosse All-American is a player who exhibits superior skills and techniques and possesses exceptional game sense and knowledge. A USA Lacrosse All-American is one of the best players in the United States, while also embodying excellent sportsmanship.”

Davis Peek is just one of 20 boys lacrosse players from Georgia to be selected as All-Americans by USA Lacrosse for the 2022 season and the only All-American from Gwinnett County. He is only the third player from Buford High School to be named an All-American by USA Lacrosse. Grant Breyo earned that distinction in 2017 and in 2019, Taylor Lewis also was named an All-American.

In April, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound long stick midfielder committed to play lacrosse for Mercer University. Davis Peek is a two-sport athlete as he played tight end and defensive end positions in the fall for the BHS football team and then in the spring he would play lacrosse for the Wolves.

During his senior year at Buford, Davis Peek was named the All-Region Tight End for the State Championship football team, Pre Season Gwinnett Daily Post Super Six Lacrosse, All-State First Team for the second consecutive year, GDP Lacrosse Player of the Year for all positions, Gwinnett County Defensive Player of the Year and 2021-2022 DiVarsity Male Student-Athlete of the Year (6A/7A). He graduated as a BHS honor graduate and was a member of the National Honor Society at Buford.
