Restaurant Inspections

A health inspector with the Gwinnett County Health Department made a routine visit to a local restaurant on Aug. 26, 2021, and found numerous violations resulting in a failing score of 55 U.

The inspection was for the Tavern House restaurant located at 5915 Suwanee Dam Rd. in Buford. While the restaurant failed this most recent inspection, it previously had scores of 92 (Feb. 9, 2021), 88 (Mar. 11, 2020) and 88 (Oct. 30, 2019).

Violations found at the Tavern House included mold-like substances found in two containers of cheese, the inside lip of the ice machine, on bread shelving racks and the outside of bread containers. Two different sauces were being held past their discard date. Foods like turkey, chicken wings, cheese and mushrooms were not labeled with the date that the foods were made or prepared. pongp.com

A follow-up inspection will be conducted within 10 days of the inspection date.
