ORIGINAL:

SUWANEE — One local restaurant was found to have several violations for the mishandling of food including undercooked raw chicken and fails recent health inspection.

Cheeky Taqueria located at 1039 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Ste A122 in Suwanee was visited by a health inspector on Feb. 24, 2021, and received a failing score of 63 on a routine inspection.

The restaurant was cited for failing to cook the raw chicken to an internal temperature of at least 165F, as well as storing items in the walk-in cooler below a leaking container of raw tilapia.  They were also cited for food being stored at improper temperatures and being stored in inappropriate containers such as chips being stored in paper bags inside of a trash bag-lined cardboard box.

Cheeky Taqueria was marked out of compliance for having food and debris accumulated on the floors and the walls of the kitchen.  The inspector also found non-food surfaces of kitchen equipment with an accumulation of dirt, dust and food residue.
