SUGAR HILL – Shortly after 10 p.m. a homicide occurred at 5811 Kendrix Ridge Drive in Sugar Hill.

Officers responded to the home that is located in a gated community off of Suwanee Dam Road after a family member found the victim, a 50-year-old male, in the garage with a significant amount of head trauma. The family member told officers that they heard a noise and went to investigate according to Gwinnett County Public Information Officer, Ashley Wilson.

The Gwinnett County Fire Department rushed the victim to a local hospital where he later died.

Investigators believe that the motive for the attack was robbery.  Officer Wilson said that they do not know at this time if anything was stolen or not.  The vehicle located inside of the garage was towed to police headquarters for further processing.

They do not have any details about a possible suspect as of yet however, there are surveillance cameras that could have potentially recorded evidence.  Investigators will be looking over the footage to see if they can obtain any clues.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
