BES Grinch Day

“ Grinch Day is a tradition at Buford Elementary.  It is a day that culminates the book study, How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  The teachers have incorporated the standards: story elements, character traits, and adjectives.  Most importantly students learn the wonderful lesson of how characters (and all people) can change.  On the last day, students are able to dress up as a favorite Grinch character for a fun day of “Grinchy activities”.

‘Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before! What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store? What if Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”  How the Grinch Stole Christmas’

— Tara Prince, BES Principal
