Investigators say that in their preliminary investigation that a van heading northbound on Ga. 13/Atlanta Highway had pulled over into the gore area just south of Friendship Road to change a flat tire.  Two female passengers got out to assist the driver.

The two female passengers were then struck by a vehicle who was also traveling northbound on Ga. 13/Atlanta Highway.  The driver who struck the two females did not stop at the scene. The two female victims were rushed to Northeast Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment.  Their conditions are not known at this time.

Investigators learned that following the hit-and-run, a black woman and a white man were seen leaving the Quiktrip that is nearby to render aid to the two victims.  Investigators would like to speak to the good samaritans.

If anyone has any information about this incident including the suspect vehicle or driver, as well as, the two individuals who stopped to render aid, please contact Sgt. John Morgan at the Hall County Sheriff’s Office at (770) 718-2383.
