On Tuesday, the Buford volleyball team won two important region matches while on the road at Lanier High School. The Lady Wolves first defeated Lanier 25-19, 25-24 then beat Habersham Central 23-25, 25-9, 15-10.
In the game against Lanier, Sydney Austin led the attack for Buford with six kills while “setter Grace Moon came in to give us a spark with 14 assists,” said Buford head coach Hadli Daniels.
Habersham Central took the first set against Buford but the Lady Wolves rallied back to ultimately beat Habersham Central. With six kills each, Austin and Kiana Polk led Buford’s attack. Polly Cummings had 27 assists against Habersham Central.
Buford ends their region play with a perfect 6-0 record. They will host the region tournament on Oct. 13 and 14.
