The Buford High School varsity softball team recently had two players announce the colleges they intend to play for after they graduate. Those players are senior Emma Castorri and junior Mackenzie Pickens.

Castorri, who plays at third base and catcher for the Wolves, announced she has committed to play for the University of Georgia Bulldogs softball team after graduation in 2023. When not playing for Buford, Castorri can be found with her club team, Georgia Impact 18U — Patrick Lewis.

Pickens announced via Twitter that she has committed to further her academic and softball careers at the University of Mississippi, also known as Ole Miss, in fall 2024. She plays shortstop for both the Wolves and her club team, Georgia Impact — Sampson 06.
