Kinleigh Jones is an avid reader — her favorite genre is historical fiction.

“The reason Kinleigh enjoys historical fiction so much, she says, ‘Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it,’” says Mrs. Stacy Buffo, Kinleigh’s English/language arts teacher.

A fifth grader at Buford Senior Academy, Kinleigh’s favorite author is British writer J. K. Rowling, and her favorite book is Rowling’s “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” the first book in the Harry Potter series, which introduces the young wizard to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he and his friends overcome obstacles to thwart a sinister plan.

Kinleigh is a Double Dare Club Double Challenge Champion, having completed 10 or more challenges in Biblionasium, a reading-focused social network for kids ages 6 to 13.

In addition to reading, which she encourages everyone to do, Kinleigh plays the clarinet and enjoys watching “Supernatural” with her family.

When she grows up, Kinleigh wants to be an attorney like her dad, and she enjoys debating.

Kinleigh is also very grateful for her Buford experience.

“I am very proud to be a Buford Wolf,” Kinleigh says. “We are privileged to be in such a great system.”

Congratulations, Kinleigh, on being featured as a Reader Spotlight!
