Cash Luther has met a significant goal — he has joined the Million Word Club.

“This is a VERY big accomplishment for a 1st grader,” said Lana Nix, media specialist at Buford Academy. “The excitement he had once he reached his goal was priceless.”

Further proving the significance of this accomplishment, Cash is the only first grader to join the Million Word Club this school year. His teacher, Mrs. Cooney, says Cash’s desk always has a stack of books on it and he reads whenever he can.

Ron Roy, author of the A to Z Mystery series, is Cash’s favorite writer. His favorite book in the series is “The Missing Mummy.”

Cash’s parents are Kelly and Lance Luther, and Cash has a 5-year-old brother who is in pre-K. Two dogs, Buster and Zac, round out Cash’s family.

Cash loves to play outside with his brother. He also enjoys playing golf and swimming. Cash prides himself on being able to play all positions in the game of soccer. Additionally, he enjoys building with LEGOS and arts and crafts.

“Cash is inquisitive, creative, and inventive,” Mrs. Cooney says. “He motivates and inspires his classmates with his diligent work, respectful behavior and joyful spirit.”

Congratulations, Cash, on being selected for a Reader Spotlight!
