Meet Ava Ross Womack, a first-grade student in Mrs. Wells’ class at Buford Academy.  Ava Ross has been selected as BA’s Reader of the Week. Mrs. Lana Nix, media specialist at Buford Academy says, “She loves to help others whether finding books or just needing to find their way around the school.  You can’t help but smile when you see Ava Ross. She has such an energetic personality.”

“Elephant and Piggie” by author Mo Willems is the favorite series of books that Ava Ross likes to read.  She says she loves those books because they make her laugh which is fitting.  “Ava Ross has one of the best senses of humor,” claims Mrs.Nix. “She is always laughing and giggling when she visits the media center with the biggest and brightest smile.”

Ava Ross is the eldest child of Ryan and Katie Womack.  She is the best big sister to her four-year-old brother William and helps take care of the family’s rescue dog, Allie. Softball is her sport of choice.  Ava Ross plays the positions of circle and right wing. She also really enjoys gymnastics, loves to draw creative stuff, and her favorite color by far is pink. Ava Ross says that the one thing that most people do not know about her is just how very strong she is.

Ava Ross loves life and brings joy to all those who know her.  She works hard and smiles even harder. Ava Ross is a wonderful example of a young Buford Wolf!  Keep up the good work!

The media specialists at the Buford Senior Academy and Buford Academy select the Buford City Schools Reader of the Week.  Buford students grades first through fifth have a chance at being named the Reader of the Week. In addition to appearing online and in print, the Reader of the Week receives a voucher to Stars and Strikes for all of their hard work.
