We here at the North Gwinnett Voice are proud to introduce the Reader of the Week, Nathan Allen. Nathan is a fourth grader at Buford Senior Academy. His teachers are Kimberly Southerland and Susan Sibley.

Nathan said he loves to read because, “It is really fun, and I can learn about things. Reading can build your mind.”

Nathan loves to read fantasy fiction books. His favorite books are the “Max and Liz” series. He said it is his favorite series because “the animals work behind the scenes and tell stories of the Bible.” Nathan’s favorite author is Geronimo Stilton because he loves his exciting books.

Besides reading books, Nathan likes to build with Legos and play outside with his brother, his parents, their dog and their two lizards. Nathan loves to go to church with his family and spend time with them at home, too. His favorite things are his scooter, his bike and his bed. Nathan’s favorite food is pigs in a blanket.

Media Specialist Sara Blankenship said Nathan is a sweet reader. She said he loves reading mystery and adventure books, and he is always eager to learn new things. Keep up the good work, Nathan!

The media specialists at the Buford Senior Academy and Buford Academy select the Buford City Schools Reader of the Week.  Buford students grades first through fifth have a chance at being named the Reader of the Week. In addition to appearing online and in print, the Reader of the Week receives a voucher to Stars and Strikes for all of their hard work.

The Buford City Schools Reader of the Week spotlight is made possible by the generosity of Peoples Bank & Trust, 1899 Buford Highway, Buford GA 30518, (770) 932-1900.
