BUFORD — A recent robbery at a store in the Mall of Georgia netted two alleged shoplifters an estimated $12,500 in perfume.

The incident took place on Sept. 22 at Perfume World, where a store employee showed an officer with the Gwinnett County Police Department surveillance footage of the alleged crime.

According to an incident report completed by that officer, two black males entered the store about noon before one of the men walked behind the checkout counter, retrieved a plastic shopping bag and began to place multiple boxes of perfume in the bag. When the store employee confronted that man, the suspect said, “Back away I have a weapon,” but did not present said weapon.

The store employee then ran out of the store to call for help and the two suspects fled.

The store employee said the suspects took 20 to 25 boxes of Creed fragrances valued at $300 to $500 per box.
