Pickens was 4-for-4 with a solo home run in the first inning, a grand slam in the second inning, and a three-run homer in the fifth inning. She ended the game having earned nine RBIs and a new school record. She also scored three runs.
Senior Abbi Perkins also had a good night at-bat going 2-for-3 with two solo home runs, two RBIs, and scoring two runs. Junior Taylor Malvin was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs.
Sophomore Olivia Duncan records her sixth win of the season. She pitched five innings giving up five hits and one run while striking out four.
Buford’s overall record improves to 17-2 and 9-0 in the region.
