Sugar Hill to hold qualifying for special election to fill two city council seats

A special election will be held for the city of Sugar Hill to fill two city council seats — Post 1 formerly held by Brandon Hembree, who has resigned to run for mayor, and Post 3, formerly held by Susie Walker, who has resigned to relocate. 

Qualifying will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 15, and run through Friday, Sept. 17. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day at City Hall, 5039 W. Broad St., in the office of the city clerk. The qualifying fee is $108. 

The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 2, 2021, election is Oct. 4.
