Sibling dispute leads police on two-day search

BUFORD — An incident involving a brother and sister lead officers to limit access to multiple neighborhoods off of Buford Dam Road and Little Mill Road on September 15.  The brother, Bradley W. Fenner, age 23 of Buford was wanted for simple assault for breaking down his sister’s bedroom door making, her fearful for her safety.

Officers were called out to a home in the 6100 block of Dogwood Circle in Buford at approximately 5 p.m. on September 15 for a domestic incident.  Upon arrival, they spoke with Briana Fenner, the victim who said that her brother was high on what she believed to be heroin and had been acting aggressively towards her and her family.

He believed his bag was in her bedroom even though she told him it wasn’t.  Bradley started banging on her bedroom door and after he couldn’t open the door because it was locked, he broke down the door. Briana told police that she was afraid he would hurt her since he has been known to strike his mother. She told him that she was calling the police and he took off into the basement.  He was not home when police arrived.

Bradley was later spotted at a local gas station with friends.  When approached, Bradley bolted which prompted the Gwinnett Police Department to expend a considerable amount of resources to try to locate him.  The search which caused residents along Buford Dam Road and Little Mill Road to have issues getting in and out of their homes lasted hours.

According to one bystander, she saw the suspect run across Cole Road and attempted to tell an officer.  Much to her dismay, the officer would not listen and ordered her away from his vehicle. At that point, the search continued well into the night and Bradley was not located.

The following day, officers located him along South Lee Street in downtown Buford.  He once again bolted forcing officers to give chase. Bradley was captured a short time later and was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail to face a misdemeanor simple assault charge and two misdemeanor counts of willful obstruction of law enforcement.  He remains in custody.
