BUFORD — Senior pitcher Addie Rackley had a career night both in the circle and at the plate Wednesday as the Buford Wolves rolled to a 15-0 win over Cherokee Bluff at the Buford Softball Complex.
Before the game, the Wolves recognized the Buford Middle School softball program, celebrating successful seasons for the 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-grade teams. The 8th-grade squad was honored for capturing the Gwinnett County league championship.
Once play began, it didn’t take long for Buford to seize control. The Wolves exploded for nine runs in the second inning, then sealed the win in the third by run rule. Rackley was unstoppable, going 3-for-3 with a double and a three-run home run while driving in six runs—tying her career high. She also earned the win, improving to 11-0 on the season after striking out six over three shutout innings.
Senior Kadyn Gabrels added a three-run homer in the second inning, part of a 2-for-2 night that included a double, four RBIs, and two runs scored. Senior Summer Castorri contributed two hits, three runs, and a pair of stolen bases, while junior Brooklyn Atha went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs.
Buford racked up 12 hits in just over two innings of play, with seven going for extra bases. Rackley held Cherokee Bluff to three hits while issuing one walk.
With the win, Buford continued its strong late-season momentum and extended its unbeaten record behind its veteran leadership and explosive offense.
