Protesters closed down SR 20 in Sugar Hill briefly Friday evening

SUGAR HILL — The Gwinnett County Police Department was forced to block off a portion of SR 20/Nelson Brogdon Boulevard on Friday evening in Sugar Hill.  The portion of SR 20 was in between the two major roads of Buford Highway and Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

The Gwinnett Police Department said that a group of protesters moved into the roadway blocking traffic.  Fearing that injuries would occur, they shut down the road temporarily to motorists along that stretch of SR 20 for a short period of time on Friday evening.  The road has since been reopened and the protests remained peaceful.
