Police arrest suspect in Friday’s shooting at a Suwanee business

SUWANEE — A massive manhunt took place on Friday afternoon after a man shot James Ross, age 38 of Loganville at a business located in the 600 block of Satellite Blvd. in Suwanee.  Ross later died of his wounds at a local hospital upgrading this to felony murder.

The original call came into 911 as an active shooter situation at the business located on Satellite Blvd. causing a massive manhunt involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

The Gwinnett County Police Department along with the help from the Suwanee Police Department were able to piece together the information they had received to identify the suspect as Joshua Brandt, age 18 of Gainesville.

Warrants were issued for Brandt for Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault.  He was taken into custody at 10 a.m. on Saturday without incident.

The motivation behind the shooting is not being released at this time.
