BUFORD — A leader in the national metals service industry, Olympic Steel Inc., announced on Monday that they have expanded their operations with the opening of their new Buford facility. The new 120,000 square-foot metals processing facility is located off the Gravel Springs Road Extension near the Mall of Georgia. Olympic Steel has three additional facilities in the Southeast with locations in Locust, North Carolina; Winder, Georgia; and Hanceville, Alabama along with 27 locations in other parts of the U.S. and Mexico.
The new Buford facility will serve as the region’s primary flat-rolled fabrication hub. Olympic Steel has added new equipment to this location that will enhance its value-added fabrication capabilities for its automotive OEM customers.
“The opening of the Buford facility strategically aligns our product and processing capabilities to efficiently meet our growing customer needs in the Southeast,” said David Gea, Region Vice President and General Manager. “The expansion allows us to offer new processed products and additional just-in-time services to our customers.”
The company says that they intend to hold an opening ceremony and offer tours at a later date for the new Buford facility.
