Junior Olivia Duncan gets her 10th win of the season and closes out the regular season for Buford with a 10-0 win over Lanier on Thursday evening at the Buford Softball Complex. With Duncan being stingy on the mound and the Buford offense scoring runs, the game was called after the fifth inning on the run rule.

Duncan (10-2) pitched for five innings giving up just three hits and no runs.  She struck out nine Lanier batters and did not walk anyone.

Offensively, junior Emma Castorri led the way going 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored.  Senior Olivia Haag got her fourth home run of the season as she went 1-for-2 earning an RBI and scoring one run.  Other offensive standouts for the Lady Wolves were sophomore Mackenzie Pickens (sac fly and two RBIs) and freshman Abby McKinnis (sac fly and an RBI).

Buford finishes out their regular season with an overall record of 22-2-1 and 13-2 in Region 8-AAAAAA. Buford will begin play in the GHSA Class AAAAAA State Playoffs on Tuesday, Oct. 12 with a third game (if needed) on Wednesday, Oct. 13.  Their opponent and the game time are to be determined.
