North Gwinnett linebacker Grant Godfrey commits to Kentucky

Grant Godfrey, a linebacker from North Gwinnett High School, announced his decision to commit to the Kentucky Wildcats on Monday, Aug. 1, via Twitter.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound senior is rated as a four-star prospect and is ranked the No. 33 player in the state of Georgia by 247 Sports. Godfrey received more than 25 offers from colleges including Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Duke, Boston College, Missouri, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

Godfrey is the son of former University of Georgia linebacker Randall Godfrey, who received several SEC awards between 1992 and 1994. He later went on to have an 11-year career in the NFL from 1996 to 2007.

The Kentucky commit has an older brother, R.J. Godfrey, who graduated in 2022 from North Gwinnett. R.J. is slated to play for Clemson’s basketball team as a forward during the upcoming season.
