Nation’s top high school football prospect for class of 2024 plans transfer to Buford

Buford High School’s football program is set to welcome a new player this fall in Dylan Raiola. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound, five-star quarterback is the No. 1 overall player in the 2024 ESPN 300.

According to an article on ESPN.com, Raiola previously transferred from Chandler High School to Pinnacle High School, both schools in Arizona, after last season, and the Arizona Interscholastic Association could have required a five-game suspension because of the association’s transfer policy.

“After meeting with the head coach at Pinnacle High School, he was very confident that Dylan would have to sit games and Dylan didn’t want to sit games,” Dominic Raiola, Dylan Raiola’s father, told ESPN. “He wanted to play right away. And I think for our family, where we are, it just made total sense. Let’s get him in a program because you can say he is moving to another high school, this, that, and the other. But I think people would rather see Dylan play than sit. And so we’re excited about it.”

Dylan Raiola has committed to play college football at the University of Georgia

At Buford, he will join fellow five-star prospects K.J. Bolden, No. 15 overall in the 2024 ESPN 300, and defensive end Eddrick Houston, who is No. 30 overall. The Wolves have won 11 state championships since 2000.
