Man Arrested for Burglaries in Buford and Flowery Branch

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, following the investigation of two recent burglaries in Buford and Flowery Branch.  Deputies arrested 44-year old Carl Junior Padgett at a location in the 6600 block of Crestwood Peninsula in Flowery Branch.

The first burglary occurred at a convenience store located at 5825 Lanier Islands Parkway in Buford on December 19, 2018.  Padgett broke into the store by breaking the glass out of the front door doing an estimated $500 in damage. Once inside the store, he stole cigarettes, beer, and lottery tickets valued at approximately $405.

A storage building in the 6100 block of Atlanta Highway in Flowery Branch was the scene of the second burglary.  Two storage units were broken into where Padgett reportedly stole at flat screen tv with wall mount, hunting gear, records, and a tripod.

Investigators obtained a warrant for Padgett’s arrest on January 2, 2019.  For burglarizing the convenience store, investigators charged him with Smash and Grab Burglary.  For the storage units, he was charged with two counts of 2nd Degree Burglary.

Deputies caught up with Padgett at a residence located in the 6600 block of Crestwood Peninsula in Flowery Branch.  When deputies searched him, they found Padgett to be in possession of methamphetamine. As a result, he was also charged with possession of methamphetamine.  Padgett was arrested without incident and taken to the Hall County Jail.
