Lesko set tone for the East team to win the PG All-American Classic

Buford senior Dylan Lesko was the starting pitcher for the East team in the PG All-American Classic held in San Diego on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2021. He set the tone for the East team by commanding the mound as he and his teammates had the first no-hitter in the history of the Classic game.

Lesko opened the game throwing fastballs clocked at 96, 95 and 96 mph striking out the first batter. While Lesko opened the game, another Buford player Riley Stanford, a two-way player, closed out the no-hitter getting the final two outs of the game to secure the East’s 9-1 victory over the West.

Another local player, Andrew Jones from Suwanee who plays for Wesleyan was also a part of the East team.  Jones had the first hit of the game for the East team with an infield single.

The West’s lone point was scored by Mikey Romero who got on base thanks to a fielder’s choice. He was able to make his way to home plate from a balk, a wild pitch and then scored on a teammate’s ground out giving the West their only point of the game.
