FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — An investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office has led to an arrest in connection with a residential fire in late August on Saddlehorse Drive.
At approximately 4 a.m. Aug. 29, firefighters responded to reports of a residential fire in the 6200 block of Saddlehorse Drive. When the first units arrived, they found the single-story home fully engulfed in flames, said Hall County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Kimberlie Ledsinger.
Crews launched a defensive attack, using aerial operations to contain the bulk of the fire. No one was inside the residence at the time, and the home was later deemed a total loss due to the extensive damage.
Following a thorough investigation, officials determined the blaze was intentionally set. On Sept. 19, a suspect was charged with first-degree arson, fraudulent insurance claims and reckless conduct, according to Hall County Fire Rescue.
The investigation was assisted by K-9 Apollo from the Fire Marshal’s Office and the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
