HALL COUNTY — Hall County Fire Rescue responded at approximately 10 a.m. to reports of a barn fire in the 3500 block of Friendship Road.
First-arriving crews found a single-story barn fully engulfed, with multiple animals trapped inside. Firefighters immediately began fire suppression efforts while simultaneously working to rescue animals from the structure.
Crews quickly brought the bulk of the fire under control, preventing the flames from spreading beyond the barn. A total of 20 animals were rescued and survived the fire.
Despite rescue efforts, two pigs and two quail were found dead inside the barn.
No firefighters were injured during the incident. Fire crews remained on scene to conduct overhaul operations and ensure all remaining hot spots were extinguished.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by Hall County Fire Rescue officials.
