A woman in her early 20s was shot and later died at an area hospital today in what police are calling a domestic-related homicide.
Shortly before 1:30 p.m., officers with the Gwinnett County Police Department were dispatched to a call regarding a person being shot at a location on Uniwattee Trail at the intersection of Mountain Ash Court in unincorporated Dacula. They found the victim, who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died.
Police believe the shooting took place in the roadway as several shell casings were found along the opposite side of the road. It is unclear whether the victim was a resident of the home where the shooting took place.
