Gwinnett Municipal Association members select Sugar Hill’s Brandon Hembree as next GwMA President

SUGAR HILL — The Gwinnett Municipal Association (GwMA) members selected Sugar Hill City Council Member Brandon Hembree to serve as the next GwMA President.

GwMA is a nonprofit organization created by the sixteen cities of Gwinnett County to help foster better cooperation between city and county government. Member cities are comprised of Auburn, Berkeley Lake, Braselton, Buford, Dacula, Duluth, Grayson, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Loganville, Norcross, Peachtree Corners, Rest Haven, Snellville, Sugar Hill, and Suwanee.

Hembree has served the residents of Sugar Hill for the past seven years as one of the city’s council members.  He has been highly active in all facets of the city. For the last two years, Hembree has served on the GwMA Executive Board and just this past year, he was the Chairman of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee for the GwMA.

“It is an honor to have been selected to serve a term as President of the Gwinnett Municipal Association (GwMA),” said Brandon Hembree. “GwMA has played a crucial role in the prosperity of Gwinnett County. The positive and productive relationship that GwMA works to foster between our county’s sixteen cities and Gwinnett County is recognized statewide as a model of success for community development.”

Hembree will serve a one-year term as the President of the GwMA starting in January. As part of the duties of President, Hembree will also serve as an Ex-Officio Member of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors.
