Gwinnett firefighters battled two house fires in Buford on Friday

Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services battled two house fires in the Buford area on Friday, Oct. 28 according to their posts on their social media accounts. The first fire was at a vacant home in the 600 block of Bona Road on Friday morning. On Friday night, fire crews battled a fire at a home on Sardis Bend Drive.

The fire on Bona Road occurred early in the morning on Friday and when crews arrived, they found a vacant manufactured home fully involved in flames.

The fire was brought under control in approximately 15 minutes after they began using multiple handlines. The home was declared a total loss. There were no victims or injuries reported.

“While the cause of the blaze is undetermined, fire investigators determined the fire originated in the area of the front porch,” said Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services in a post on Facebook.

According to a post on Facebook, Gwinnett County fire crews were called out to another fire on Friday. This time later at night to a home on Sardis Bend Drive. This fire caused heavy smoke damage to the garage of the end-unit townhome. A car and motorcycle were destroyed in the fire.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire at the townhome on Sardis Bend Drive is undetermined.
