Gwinnett County declares May 7-13 tourism week

From Sunday, May 7, to Saturday, May 13, Gwinnett County will celebrate its efforts and accomplishments in the travel and tourism industry.

During the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners’ business session on Tuesday, May 2, Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson, on behalf of the board, proclaimed May 7-13, 2023, as National Tourism and Travel Week in Gwinnett and recognized the county’s official tourism and film office, Explore Gwinnett.

“Our partners at Explore Gwinnett have been intentional about sustaining our success, from growing our film and TV industry to celebrating small businesses that make our Gwinnett so unique,” Hendrickson said. “I want to commend our partners Explore Gwinnett for making this community a cultural destination.”

“Throughout the week, Gwinnett residents are encouraged to recognize and support the hospitality businesses and their employees for their contribution to the quality of life of all Gwinnett citizens,” a news release announcing the proclamation stated.

According to that news release:

“Whether you’re visiting one of our landmarks, attending a concert or relishing our diverse food scene, Gwinnett has something for everyone,” Hendrickson said during her presentation.
