GACA All-State teams are out, Buford receives multiple honors

Gabe Ervin, a talented Buford running back was one of two running backs selected for the All-State team.

The Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) announced their annual football All-State teams and coach of the year awards.  Buford had four offensive players and two defensive players on the Class AAAAAA All-State team.  Buford also took home the prestigious coach of the year award.

Buford head coach, Bryant Appling was named the AAAAAA coach of the year.  Appling has back to back state championship titles in just his first two seasons at the helm of Buford football.

Two Buford running backs were named to the All-State team list, senior Gabe Ervin and junior Victor Venn. Representing Buford’s offensive line on this list is senior Jacob Smith.  Rounding out the offensive players selected is junior wide receiver Jake Pope.

Seniors Tommy Beuglas and Amari Wansley are the two Wolves picked for the defensive side of the All-State team.
