HALL COUNTY — One person was found dead early Tuesday after a fire engulfed a single-story home on Tanners Mill Road in Hall County, officials said.
Hall County Fire Rescue crews were dispatched at approximately 3:40 a.m. after receiving reports of a residential fire and a possible occupant trapped inside. When firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.
Due to the intensity of the fire, crews conducted a defensive attack from outside the residence while working to bring the blaze under control.
During a primary search of the home, firefighters located one deceased victim inside. No other residents were reported, and no firefighter injuries were immediately reported.
The fire was quickly extinguished, and crews remained on scene for overhaul operations to ensure all hot spots were contained.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the scene to conduct the official death investigation.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
