Coronavirus Daily Update 3/22/2020; Georgia hits 600 mark for confirmed cases

The Georgia Department of Public Health posted the new numbers for the COVID-19 virus at noon Sunday.  Those numbers show that Georgia now has 600 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, of which, 23 people have lost their lives due to the virus.

Gwinnett County’s numbers are up to 27 confirmed cases of COVID-19.  Fulton is up to 108, Cobb has 61, Bartow is now 57, Doughtery has 48, and DeKalb is close behind with 45.  Hall County is up to nine and Forsyth has three confirmed cases of the virus.

Females are slightly ahead of males today at 49% to their 48% with 2% being an unknown.  The 18-59 age group is still ahead with 42% of the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 while the over 60 group has 31% of the total number.  Children account for 1% and the unknown group has 26%.

As of yesterday, the World Health Organization reported a total of 267,013 confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide in 184 countries/areas.  A total of 11,201 deaths attributed to the coronavirus have occurred across the globe. China has had 81,416 confirmed cases while Italy is just behind with 47,021 cases confirmed.
