GDOT logoConstruction activity for the I-85 Widening project will require lane closures next week along the corridor in Gwinnett, Barrow, and Jackson counties.

Beginning Sunday night, asphalt paving on I-85 will necessitate single-lane closures in both directions between Hamilton Mill Road in Gwinnett County and SR 53 in Jackson County. Work will occur nightly from Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Friday from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Saturday, and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday.

Traffic pacing activity will also occur in each direction from Sunday through Saturday night. Pacing activities will extend northbound from SR 20 in Gwinnett County to SR 211 in Barrow County and southbound from SR 211 to Hamilton Mill Road. Pacing will begin at 9 p.m. nightly and continue until 5 a.m. each morning.
