KENNESAW – Buford made a statement Saturday with a sweep of two top programs, routing North Cobb 13–1 in five innings before knocking off defending Class 5A state champion Creekview 5–1 at North Cobb High School.
Game One:
Buford 13, North Cobb 1
In a matchup of Class 6A region leaders, Buford’s bats erupted early against North Cobb ace and Auburn commit Leah Byrd, tagging her for eight runs in two innings. Junior Brooklyn Atha jump-started the Wolves’ offense with a two-run homer in the first and finished 3-for-3 at the plate.

Hamrick added a sacrifice fly in the third, while Atha singled in another run.
The Wolves sealed the game in the fifth with three more runs, highlighted by a solo home run from Gia Gomez and an RBI single from Kadyn Gabrels.
Rackley earned her eighth win of the season, striking out five in two hitless innings before handing the ball to juniors Kennedy Townsend and sophomore Taylor Jackson. Buford’s defense was error-free, with catcher Janie Goldin recording five chances. North Cobb managed just one hit, from Addison O’Neal.

Creekview cut the lead to 4–1 in the sixth, but Gabrels answered with her fifth homer of the season, a solo shot that hugged the left-field foul pole. Rackley then retired the Grizzlies in order in the seventh to secure her ninth win.
