BUFORD – The Buford Wolves flag football team opened their season with a 14-6 win over Oconee County on Thursday night at Buford High School.
Quarterback Mia Bouton led the way with two touchdown passes, one to Keiko Teague with a successful point-after run, and another to Braeleigh Wansley, followed by a conversion pass to Sarah Duran.
The Wolves’ defense also made its mark. Bouton and Duran each grabbed interceptions, while Sami Buffo recorded a sack and Teague applied steady pressure on the Oconee quarterback throughout the game.
With the victory, Buford starts the season 1-0. The Wolves return to action Saturday when they host the 2nd Annual Buford Kickoff Classic at Buford High School.
