In a press release sent out today from the Athletic Department at Buford High School, a new Head Football Coach has been selected.  Speculation has been high as to who might snag the position left vacant after John Ford resigned as the head coach.  Buford decided to promote from within instead of hiring a candidate from another school.

Defensive coordinator, Bryant Appling has been promoted to the new Head Football Coach at BHS.  He brings 17 years of coaching experience with the last 15 of those years within the BHS football program.

Coach Appling grew up in Decatur, Georgia and played football at Lehigh University.  He earned his undergraduate degree at Lehigh and later earned a M.A.T from the University of Georgia and an Ed.S. from Kennesaw State University.  Coach Appling and his wife LaSauna have three children, Bryauna (9), Brendon (7), and Landry (4).

What Coach Appling brings to the table no other could do so.  Having coached under the likes of Jess Simpson and having spent the last 15 years at Buford, Coach Appling knows the community.  He is fully immersed in all that is Buford and makes Buford such a successful program.  It will be exciting to see what Coach Appling can do with the team next fall.  Congratulations Coach Bryant Appling!
